Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance

One Policy For Every Trip This Year

If you fly abroad several times a year, buying a new policy before each trip is tedious and easy to forget. Annual multi-trip travel insurance covers every overseas journey you start within twelve months, subject to a maximum length per trip. MILES Insurance Brokers helps business owners, consultants and frequent family travellers choose the right per-trip limit, geographic scope and medical cover, so the policy is already in place the next time you head to the airport.

Why Frequent Travellers Choose Annual Cover

Always Already Covered

No need to buy a policy before each departure; every qualifying trip within the policy year is protected automatically.

Medical Cover Every Trip

Emergency hospitalisation, treatment and evacuation abroad, with the sum insured restored for each new journey.

Simpler Annual Budgeting

One premium for the year, often more economical than several single trip policies for regular travellers.

Documents And Delays

Passport loss, flight delay, missed connections and baggage problems covered on each trip, as per plan wording.

Worldwide Or Regional

Choose worldwide cover including or excluding the US and Canada depending on where you actually travel.

Built For Business Travel

Suits founders, sales heads and consultants who make short overseas trips for meetings, trade fairs and client visits.

What is annual multi-trip travel insurance?

Annual multi-trip travel insurance is a single policy that covers all overseas trips you begin during a twelve-month period, as long as each trip stays within a maximum number of days. It gives the same kinds of protection as a single trip plan — medical emergencies, evacuation, passport loss, trip delay and baggage — without buying fresh cover every time you travel.

It sits within our wider range of travel insurance options and is designed for people whose travel is regular rather than occasional: exporters, founders, senior managers, consultants and families who travel abroad often.

How the per-trip limit works

The key feature to understand is the maximum trip duration. Each journey must end within the limit you choose, commonly offered in bands such as 30, 45 or 60 days, depending on the insurer. If one trip runs longer, that trip is generally not covered for the extra days, and some wordings exclude the whole trip. There is usually no cap on how many trips you take within the year.

The medical sum insured normally applies per trip, so a claim on one journey does not reduce cover for the next. Check this in the wording, because a few plans apply an annual aggregate to some sections.

Who needs it

  • Business owners and exporters travelling for trade fairs, supplier visits and client meetings.
  • Professionals who take several short trips a year to the Gulf, South-East Asia, Europe or North America.
  • Families who holiday abroad two or more times a year, or who visit children studying overseas.
  • NRIs’ parents in India who travel to see family abroad more than once a year, subject to age limits.

As a simple rule, if you expect three or more overseas trips in the next year, an annual plan is worth pricing. For one or two trips, single trip travel insurance is often more cost-effective.

What it covers

  • Emergency medical treatment and hospitalisation abroad, with cashless admission through the assistance partner where available.
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation to India.
  • Loss of passport and emergency travel document costs.
  • Trip delay, missed connection and trip interruption for listed causes.
  • Checked-in baggage loss and delay.
  • Personal liability and accidental death or disability during a trip.

What is not covered

Trips longer than the per-trip limit, domestic travel within India (unless the plan specifically includes it), pre-existing conditions not accepted by the insurer, travel for medical treatment, and hazardous sports without an add-on are typically excluded. Most annual plans also have a maximum entry age, which varies by insurer; older travellers may need single trip cover instead. Business travel is usually covered, but manual work abroad may not be, so tell us what you actually do on your trips.

Visa use

An annual policy can support a visa application, but some consulates want the certificate to show the specific travel dates and territory. For Schengen visas, the policy must meet the minimum medical cover set by the Schengen rules and cover the full stay. We issue a supporting letter or trip-specific certificate from the insurer where needed.

How MILES helps

  • We look at your actual travel pattern over the past year before recommending a trip-length band and region.
  • We compare insurers on per-trip versus aggregate limits, age rules and pre-existing condition terms.
  • We arrange embassy-ready certificates or letters for each visa application during the year.
  • We remind you before renewal and help with claims after any trip.

If you also want cover for accidents at home and at work, pair this with personal accident insurance, which applies worldwide and all year.

What we need for a quote

  1. Date of birth of each person to be covered.
  2. Regions you usually travel to, and whether the US or Canada is included.
  3. Your longest typical trip length in days.
  4. Pre-existing medical conditions, if any.
  5. Start date for the annual policy.

Cover, exclusions and premiums depend on the insurer’s policy wording and underwriting. MILES Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. is an IRDAI-licensed direct broker (Life & General, Reg. No. 954); the insurance is issued by the insurer. Insurance is the subject matter of solicitation.
